Consolidated Electric Member Reports Fraudulent Impersonation of an Employee

Mt. Gilead, OH – Consolidated Electric Cooperative had a member report someone at their residence who portrayed a

Cooperative employee and asked for payment of their electric account. Consolidated reported the incident to the local sheriff’s department and urged the member to do the same. The Cooperative would like to urge members to call the proper authorities as well as Consolidated at 800-421-5863 to report any similar occurrences.

A Consolidated Electric employee would not request payment in any form at a residence. All Consolidated Electric employees wear clothing with a logo, drive a vehicle clearly marked as Consolidated Electric and have proper identification to present to the member.
