Restoration efforts continue
Mt. Gilead, OH – Consolidated Electric Cooperative reports that 2,600 members remain without electric power due to the ice storm that affected transmission lines throughout the CEC service area. Line crews have been working day and night, and nine additional crews from Vaughn Industries and Ohio and Kentucky co-ops are assisting CEC in order to speed the restoration process.
“We’ve had crews working extremely long hours over the past two days to get power restored,” states Consolidated President Jerry Lauer. “Adverse road and weather conditions make restoring power more of a challenge, as crews travel from job to job,” he added. Crews continue to focus on restoring main power lines where the most numbers of people will be affected.
