Restoration efforts continue
Mount Gilead , OH –Consolidated Electric Cooperative (CEC) reports that electric power has been restored to more than 4,600 members who experienced outages early this morning when the CEC service area was hit with ice and high winds. There are an estimated 2,200 members who remain without power this evening.
“It’s very important that we restore power quickly and safely,” said Consolidated President Jerry Lauer. “And being able to get assistance when needed from other electric cooperatives and contractors is one of the advantages of being a co-op. It helps us get the lights back on faster.”
Crews continue to focus on restoring main power lines where the most numbers of people will be affected. Scattered power outages remain throughout the area, and line crews continue to work throughout the evening to restore power.
